What We've Done
A look back at some of our past jobs
The grout on the floor of this shower was very low, allowing the water to go straight through and damage the walls of the living room. The tiles were still in good condition, only the grout was causing the leak. In this case, we were not only able to repair the leaking shower, but prevent further leaky shower related damage from causing $1000’s worth of issues. In most cases, such as this one, one visit from Shower Solutions is all you need to get everything back on track.
This shower was repaired by sealing and re-grouting. Through natural deterioration over time the grout in the joints had become extremely low and in some points there was no grout in between the tiles, allowing the water to reach the surrounding walls in the hallway and bedroom. Shower Solutions regrouted and sealed the entire shower bringing it back to its original form. Again, this simple shower repair saved this Perth home from $1000’s in further damages all in less than 24 hours.
The grout was cracked and deteriorated throughout most parts of the shower. Silicone was originally applied to the corner joints however it had become mouldy and the seal was broken. Shower Solutions removed the silicone and re-grouted/sealed the entire shower. The corner joints now have grout mixed with a flexible additive applied to it, which will help prevent future cracking and eliminate the need for silicone.
This shower had heavily deteriorated grout in the floor and some sections of cracked grout in the walls. Shower Solutions Re-grouted and sealed the entire shower to stop the leak.
Shower sealed in February. The before image shown below is indicative of one of the most common causes of a leaking shower, cracked shower floor corner grout joints (where the floor and wall tiles meet). If you look closely you can see that there is a hairline crack in between the grout and tiles, this is the main reason that the shower was leaking. Cracks like this one can be caused from structural movement in the building. Shower Solutions regrouted the area causing the leak and mixed the new grout with a flexible additive to help prevent any future cracking.
The grout was heavily deteriorated in the floor and there was a number of cracks in some sections of the walls. Shower Solutions regrouted the entire floor and the walls of this shower to stop moisture damaging the surrounding walls. Not only has it stopped the leak but it has given the shower a fresh look again.
This shower had grout missing from a number of areas and especially in the corner joints (where the wall meets the floor). The grout was also stained to the point that no cleaning could bring it back to its original form. Shower Solutions regrouted and sealed the full shower, making the shower completely waterproof and giving it a fresh look again.
After looking at the photo you can see in the before shot how there is hardly any grout in the joints, there was a number of sections in the shower which looked that way. As a result, the water was escaping and damaging the surrounding walls. Shower Solutions fully re-grouted and sealed this shower and there is no longer a problem.
The grout in the walls was still good but the floor and hob grout was in bad condition. Therefore Shower Solutions re-grouted the floor and hob, replaced the silicone seal between the tiles and shower screen and finally sealed the old and new grout.
The grout in the mosaic tiles was cracked in most areas resulting in damage to the walls inside the bathroom and in the bedroom (bubbling paint). Shower Solutions re-grouted and sealed the full shower and also replaced the silicone seal between the shower screen and tiles as it had become very mouldy.
As you can see in the before shot there was sections where the grout had deteriorated almost completely allowing significant amounts of water to escape the shower recess and cause rising dampness on the surrounding walls. Shower Solutions re-grouted and sealed the whole shower. The silicone seal on the shower screen had been broken due to old age and we replaced that too.
The entire shower needed to be regrouted, the grout had begun to fall out of the walls and floor and some sections had fine hairline cracks between the grout and tiles. This resulted in significant damage to the lower section of the walls in the laundry because of the water escaping through the holes and cracks in the shower recess. After regrouting we applied a penetrating sealer to the new grout.
This showers grout on the floor and two tiles high on the walls had become deteriorated. This deterioration lead to damage to the plaster and paint on the opposing walls as a result of the water leaking through the holes. Shower Solutions re-grouted the floor and two tiles high on the walls followed by sealing all grout (old and new) with a penetrating sealer.
This leaking shower recess had not been used for many years because the old grout had deteriorated causing the shower to leak badly. The shower recess was located upstairs and the water damage from the old leaking grout had traveled down into the ceiling of the ground floor.
Every grout line was mouldy, deteriorated and there was cracks in the corner joints.
Once we had completed the tile re grouting in the leaky shower you can see from the photos below the sealed shower looks great.
